About Us:
Through the decades the Miss Murray pageant has existed and served a variety of purposes. During the early years there were not formal pageants held. Rhea Kiissel is the person who got formal pageants started again in the late 1970’s. Since then the pageant has been held every single year and has sent Miss Murray to the Miss Utah Pageant. Rhea was the pageant director for many years and once she took a position at the state level there were two or three different women who headed it up during the 1990’s. In 1996 Leesa Lloyd took over the pageant and has been the director ever since. The pageant has always been held at either Murray High School or the Murray Amphitheater. Before 1996, the pageant was an open pageant where girls from surrounding areas were able to participate. In 1996 the pageant rules were redone to allow only Murray City residents to be contestants. The pageant has been a great influence for good in the community as well as for the participants.
This year’s Miss Murray Pageant was held on Saturday September 16, 2017 in the Murray High School Auditorium at 7:00 pm
